Did L. Ron Hubbard Consider Himself to be The Antichrist?

Written by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology’s original OT VIII level had Hubbard describing himself as the Antichrist spoken of in the Book of Revelation:

No doubt you are familiar with the Revelations section of the Bible where various events are predicted. Also mentioned is a brief period of time in which an archenemy of Christ, referred to as the Antichrist, will reign and his opinions will have sway. All this makes for very fantastic, entertaining reading but there is truth in it. This Antichrist represents the forces of Lucifer (literally, the “light bearer” or “light bring”), Lucifer being a mythical representation of the forces of enlightenment, the Galactic Confederacy. My mission could be said to fulfill the Biblical promise represented by this brief Antichrist period. During this period there is a fleeting opportunity for the whole scenario to be effectively derailed, which would make it impossible for the mass Markabian landing (Second Coming) to take place. The Second Coming is designed, among other things, to trigger a rapid series of destructive events…

In this same OT VIII document, Hubbard slanders Jesus Christ as a pedophile:

For those of you whose Christian toes I may have stepped on, let me take the opportunity to disabuse you of some lovely myths. For instance, the historic Jesus was not nearly the sainted figure he has been made out to be. In addition to being a lover of young boys and men, he was given to uncontrollable bursts of temper and hatred that belied the general message of love, understanding and other typical Marcab PR. You have only to look at the history his teachings inspired to see where it all inevitably leads. It is historic fact and yet man still clings to the ideal, so deep and insidious is the biologic implanting. It is a good joke that the Galactic Confederacy is associated with the Serpent in the Garden, the Beast and other emissaries of the “Prince of Darkness.” Yet in certain passages and esoteric interpretations of the Bible (much of which has been taken out and effectively suppressed for centuries) as well as the Kabbalah, the truth reveals itself quite nicely for the clever and the ungullible.

We accept George W. White’s personal testimony that these are the authentic words written by L. Hubbard contained in a letter dated May 5, 1980. White was on the original OT VIII course delivered on The Freewinds in July 1988. Former Scientology executives Frank Oliver and Jesse Prince have also corroborated the document as being authentic.

The Church of Scientology withdrew the original OT VIII course pack after it caused controversy within the ranks of the OT’s who read the explosive material written by Hubbard. The Church has since attempted to repudiate the original OT VIII course pack as being spurious.

L. Ron Hubbard Jr. a/k/a Ron deWolf

L. Ron Hubbard Jr. (1934-1991) was the first child of L. Ron Hubbard and his first wife Margaret Louise Grubb. His nickname was “Nibs.”

Nibs was very involved in early Dianetics and Scientology and was viewed as his father’s eventual successor. Nibs married during this period. He left the movement as his father was not paying him enough money to support his growing family.

Thereafter, Nibs became estranged from his father and from Scientology. He changed his name to Ron DeWolf to distance himself from his father and from Scientology.

In 1983,  L. Ron Hubbard Jr. granted Penthouse magazine an exclusive interview. This interview contains the infamous excerpt in which L. Ron Hubbard Jr. said that his father considered himself to be the Antichrist.

We personally consider this 1983 interview to be one of the most powerful and insightful pieces ever written about L. Ron Hubbard and the Church of Scientology. Ron DeWolf talks about his father, Fair Game, Disconnection, Black Magick, early Scientology and brilliantly reduces the essence of Scientology to this statement:

Penthouse: What exactly is Scientology?
Hubbard: Scientology is a power-and-money-and-intelligence-gathering game.

Published five years before the original OT VIII course was delivered in 1988, L. Ron Hubbard Jr.’s words echo what George White would read in 1988 in the original OT VIII course pack on The Freewinds. From the Penthouse interview of 1983:

Hubbard Jr: …Also, I’ve got to complete this by saying that he (L. Ron Hubbard) thought of himself as the Beast 666 incarnate.

Penthouse: The devil?

Hubbard Jr: Yes. The Antichrist. Alastair Crowley thought of himself as such. And when Crowley died in 1947, my father then decided that he should wear the cloak of the beast and become the most powerful being in the universe.

Penthouse: You were sixteen years old at that time. What did you believe in?

Hubbard Jr: I believed in Satanism. There was no other religion in the house! Scientology and black magic. What a lot of people don’t realize is that Scientology is black magic that is just spread out over a long time period. To perform black magic generally takes a few hours or, at most, a few weeks. But in Scientology it’s stretched out over a lifetime, and so you don’t see it. Black magic is the inner core of Scientology –and it is probably the only part of Scientology that really works.

Also, you’ve got to realize that my father did not worship Satan. He thought he was Satan. He was one with Satan. He had a direct pipeline of communication and power with him. My father wouldn’t have worshiped anything. I mean, when you think you’re the most powerful being in the universe, you have no respect for anything, let alone worship.

There is a direct correspondence between:

• What L. Ron Hubbard said about himself in 1947, i.e. he was the Antichrist
• What Hubbard had written about himself on May 5, 1980 as part of the secret OT VIII materials
• What L. Ron Hubbard Jr. told Penthouse magazine: His father considered that he had become the new Antichrist after the death of Aleister Crowley on December 1, 1947.
• What the original OT VIII’s read on The Freewinds in 1988

The bottom line: The evidence is there that L. Ron Hubbard considered himself to be the Antichrist.

The last two pages contain a rebuttal by Heber Jentzsch, the President of the Church of Scientology International. L. Ron Hubbard was in hiding in 1983 as he was the subject of an investigation for income tax evasion and money laundering by the IRS Criminal Investigative Division. Heber had to remain silent about this matter when he flatly denied Penthouse’s request for an interview with L. Ron Hubbard.
